BEIJING: The Russia-Ukraine dispute raged on Thursday, with all parties involved attempting to reach a peaceful resolution.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, said on Wednesday that Russia and Ukraine are continuing negotiations but that there is still a long way to go, emphasising that Moscow would prefer Kiev to be more engaged during the talks. He told France's LCI TV earlier in the day that the departure of Russian forces from the Kiev region aimed to facilitate peace talks.

Zelensky stated in an interview with Turkey's Haberturk television channel: "In any event, we must seek out even the tiniest window of opportunity for the dialogue process. Without this, I believe it will be difficult to bring the war to an end." In the meetings, Zelensky emphasised the significance of other countries' intervention, notably Turkey's. According to a statement released by the presidential press service on Wednesday, he asked the administration to formally end Ukraine's trade with Russia.

In reality, since the commencement of the conflict, all import and export operations between Ukraine and Russia have been halted, according to the statement. The US imposed new sanctions on Russia on Wednesday in response to its military campaign in Ukraine, targeting the country's biggest financial institutions as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin's two daughters.
