New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during his visit to South Korea, emphasized India's burgeoning global standing on Tuesday. He noted that Indians leaving the country for overseas opportunities now have heightened confidence in the government's support even while abroad.

Jaishankar remarked, "Today, when an Indian ventures beyond our shores, they do so with a newfound confidence. They trust that irrespective of the circumstances abroad, their government will extend assistance. This sense of assurance is significant as more Indians are exploring global employment prospects."

Highlighting the crucial role of the Indian diaspora in bolstering India's ties with other nations, Jaishankar emphasized that India is progressing on the right trajectory under the current leadership.

He elaborated, "Whether it's students, blue-collar workers, or professionals seeking opportunities worldwide, it's essential to instill confidence in them. We have demonstrated this commitment over the past decade."

Moreover, Jaishankar acknowledged the diaspora's enduring connection with India, acknowledging their contributions to the nation's progress. He expressed gratitude for their continued support and underscored India's positive momentum under the current leadership.

Addressing the Korea National Diplomatic Academy on 'Broadening horizons: India-Korea Partnership in the Indo-Pacific', Jaishankar emphasized the need for both countries to reevaluate their strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation further.

During his visit, Jaishankar highlighted the expanding partnership between India and South Korea across various sectors. He noted that the relationship between the two countries holds immense significance in the face of a volatile global landscape.
