New Delhi: After giving notice of disqualification of Sachin Pilot, former chief of Congress Rajasthan unit, and 18 MLAs supporting him, rebel leaders are now considering going to the country's highest court. On the disqualification notice, Sachin Pilot is consulting his lawyers to file an appeal in the apex court.
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker CP Joshi has confirmed that notices of disqualification have been sent to Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot and MLAs supporting him. Sachin Pilot plans to approach the apex court on the ground that the notice issued by the Gehlot government has no legal basis. Pilot and rebel MLA can seek clarification from the Election Commission (EC) on the notices issued in this case.
Following a complaint by the ruling Congress party, the Rajasthan assembly speaker sent a notice to Sachin Pilot and other rebel MLAs at the Manesar resort. Congress had complained against Sachin Pilot and his MLAs for not attending the second CLP meeting on Tuesday. When he did not reach the meeting, Congress removed him from the post of Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Rajasthan Party Chief. Pilot is yet to announce his next move. However, he has clarified that he will not join the BJP.
