New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has once again reacted to reports of global institutions that have reduced India's democratic level. In fact, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue. In a statement last Tuesday, the Congress leader said, "Iraq's dictator Saddam Hussein and Libyan military ruler Muammar Gaddafi also won the election." In an online event with Brown University, Rahul said, "Saddam and Gaddafi won the elections. People also used to vote, but there was no institutional framework to protect those votes.''

In fact, the Swedish-based institution of Democracy (V-Dam) has reduced India's status to 'electoral dictatorship', mentioning the decline in democratic freedom. On the other hand, the Freedom House institution has reduced the country's democratic status and made it 'partially independent' from 'Azad Desh.' Replying to the questions of university Professor Ashutosh Varshney on the reports of all these institutions, Rahul has responded. He attacked PM Modi during the attack and said, "BJP MPs in Parliament tell me that they do not have an open discussion on any subject. They say that they are told what they have to speak.''

Well, the Government of India has rejected the reports of these institutions. In fact, the government says that these reports are 'misleading, wrong and unfair.' During the question-answer, Rahul said, "Elections do not only mean that people go to the polling booth and press the voting machine button there. The election is on a perspective. Elections are about institutions that have to ensure that the democratic structure of the country works properly. Elections mean that the judiciary is fair and debated in Parliament.''
