Dance and music has forever been an integral part of Indian cinema. With time, it has only furthered its importance in the entertainment industry. There are a lot of opportunities for talented artists and choreographers in the industry but nothing comes without hardwork and a good example of this is Sagar Das.
Sagar is one of the most recognised song directors/choreographers in Bollywood. He started his journey and got his break in 2006 with Shahrukh Khan’s hit film ‘Chak De India’ which was produced by Yashraj Films, one of the biggest names in the industry. Since the beginning of his career, Sagar has choreographed over 30 films and 150 songs.
Having worked with productions like Eros, Madras Talkies, Adlabs, White feather films, and others, Sagar has built a strong reputation for himself as one of the most sought after choreographers today. For his work, the choreographer has been nominated not once but twice for IIFA awards and currently he serves as the president of IFTCA. If that’s not all, he also owns his own production house called Krypton Entertainment which was established in 2010 and has produced countless music videos in Hindi as well as regional languages.
Talking about his journey, Sagar shares, “I have nothing but gratitude for where I am today, all my hardwork has paid off and I want to continue to grow in the industry and work with more artists as I believe it’s the best way to learn. I also want to create a space where I am able to help other emerging artists grow and give them a platform to showcase their talent and skills. It’s a good feeling knowing that something I’ve been dreaming of as a child, being a part of Bollywood, has come true.”
Sagar has choreographed a lot of music videos and has also directed various ad films for known brands, he is currently working on several projects like ‘Jab Khuli Kitab’, ‘Crouching Tiger Mannu’, ‘Ticket to Bollywood' , 'Dil Sita' and more.
