Following the guidelines issued by the Central Government for Unlock-4, the Indian Sports Authority has also spoken about relaxing some of the lockdown restrictions to the players. On Sunday, SAI has announced that it will give permission to the development group of shooters to use the facilities from next month.
SAI stated, "The target Olympic podium scheme (TOPS) shooter will start training from September 2 at the National Center of Excellence (NCOE) of the Karni Singh Shooting Range". SAI quoted "The Health Ministry and its own Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) guidelines will be strictly followed during the shooters' test". SAI in the statement said "SAI has decided that when the country enters Unlock 4, then its facility will start for the athletes of the developmental group. In the first phase, SAI is ready to open sports activities for shooters of Topps Group and NCOE at Karni Singh Shooting Range (KSSR) from 2 September 2020".
According to SAI officials, "The decision to open the sports facilities in a phased manner has been taken to ensure that the safety and training of the athletes. Different times have been set to ensure continuous training of shooters entering for the Olympics". On Saturday, the Union Home Ministry decided to allow attendance of up to a hundred people in the Games from September 21 in its unlock-four guidelines related to corona infection.
