The hospital where Sai Dharam Tej is undergoing treatment after being injured in a road accident issued a statement last week that Sai Dharam Tej has been taken off ventilator and is responding positively to treatment. While there is no official update from the hospital, the actor's uncle Pawan Kalyan on Saturday revealed that Sai Dharam Tej is still in a coma and is yet to regain consciousness.

Pawan's statement came a day after Tej's cousin Ram Charan said that the actor is making a full recovery, and is on his way to recovery. Actor Chiranjeevi also said in a recent program that Supreme Star is recovering. However, with no message yet from Sai Dharam Tej since the night of the accident, Pawan's statement has set off alarm bells among his fans.

According to hospital sources, the condition of Sai Dharam Tej is stable. “He is not in a coma; he is responding to commands. All his vital parameters and organs are stable and he is responding to treatment. He will take time to fully recover,” said a hospital source Sai Dharam Tej was involved in a road accident in which he suffered a collar bone fracture and other soft tissue injuries on September 10. The actor has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since then.
