Two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist Saina Nehwal has slammed the Badminton Association of India for ousting her from both, questioning the timing of the selection trials. BAI had held a selection trial on April 2 in which teams for the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup to be held in Bangkok from May 8-15 along with the Birmingham Commonwealth Games and Hangzhou Asian Games are also being selected.

Former world number one Saina has said that she had informed BAI about her exclusion from the trials at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, but it does not mean that she does not want to participate in these tournaments. "Shocked to read reports that I have no interest in participating in Commonwealth and Asian Games," he tweeted. I just returned from playing three weeks in Europe and that's why I didn't take violence in the trial. Being a senior player, it is not possible to play continuously. There is a fear of injury due to this and not at all on the information given so short time ago.

Continuing his point, he has said that I had informed BAI about this but no response has been received from them till now. Looks like they are happy to keep me out of both these tournaments. BAI had exempted players in the top 15 in the BWF rankings from the trials but players ranked from 16 to 50 in the world rankings were to participate in the trials.
