Prema's husband Selvan had committed suicide and the reason for the husband's suicide was said to be his debt burden. Both Prema and Selvan were brick kiln labourers and both borrowed considerable money to meet their needs. Both had borrowed more than 2.5 lakhs by borrowing. Troubled by this debt, the husband committed suicide but Prema chose life for her children. When she ran out of money, she asked for money from her friends and relatives, but everyone held back. Finally, a man from the village made a proposal in front of Prema.

The young man said, "If she gives her head hair, he will give him money." Hearing this, Prema thought nothing because she had to feed her children. She immediately sold her hair for 150 rupees. As soon as the money was received, Prema fed her children food. When a graphic designer, 'Jee Bala', came to know about Prema's story, he made crowdfunding for Prema through social media. During this period, about 1.45 lakh rupees have been deposited for Prema and with this, the district administration has approved Prema's monthly widow pension. Seeing Prema, it can be said that it is the mother who fights in every situation and never wavers.
