Escorts Ltd. has reported a 3.4% decline in total tractor sales due to lockdown

For the first time on 24 March, PM Modi decided to implement a lockdown to prevent the spread of corona virus. But now the lockdown is being relaxed. The same, India's well-known farm equipment manufacturer Escorts has released a sales report for the month of May on Monday. The company has sold 6594 units of the tractor with a decline of 3.4 percent in the last month i.e. May 2020. If compared to last month's sales, then in May 2019, 6827 units were sold.

If we talk about domestic sales, then in May 2020, 6,454 units were sold, which is 0.5 percent less than the sale of 6,488 units in May 2019. On the other hand, if we talk about exports, 140 units were exported in May 2020, which was 58.7 percent less than 339 units exported in the same period last year. Talking about the total sales, a total of 6,594 units were sold in the last month, which was 3.4 percent less than the total sales of 6,827 units in May last year.

Apart from this, in the first two months of the first quarter, the company sold 7067 tractors in the domestic market, which was 38.4 percent less than the 11474 units sold in the same period last year. Total tractor sales (domestic + exports) decreased by 39.6 percent to 7299 units during the quarter under review.
