Hyderabad : A lot of liquor is being sold in Telangana in the new year. Liquor sales on December 28 stood at Rs 205.18 crore, according to the data department. 150 crore on December 29, Rs. 211.35 crore on December 30 and Rs. 193 crore on December 31. Liquor worth about Rs 759 crore has been sold in the last four days. Liquor worth Rs 300 crore was sold in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal districts. Liquor cases worth Rs 8.61 crore and beer cases worth Rs 6.62 crore were sold in the new year. However, this time it was not allowed to celebrate the New Year. However, this time the excise department earned Rs 200 crore more compared to last year.
Liquor sales worth Rs 75.98 crore were recorded in United Nalgonda district on the Andhra Pradesh border. Similarly, Warangal district received Rs 63.49 crore, Medak district Rs 53.87 crore, Khammam district Rs 52.70 crore and Karimnagar district Rs 508 crore.
According to officials, more than Rs 2,000 crore was sold in December. Due to Drunken & Drive and not being allowed to celebrate the party, many people bought bottles of liquor near their homes and bought alcohol. Thus, in the new year in Telangana, liquor sales are very high.
