Singer Sonu Nigam is talking about the music mafia nowadays. He had made a shocking disclosure in the past and due to his revelations, he is very much in discussion these days. Sonu revealed the arbitrariness made by the music companies in his video, Sonu is fiercely attacking T series chairman Bhushan Kumar. After Sonu's video, Kumar Sanu, Alisha Chinoy, Monali Thakur supported him, and now Salim Merchant has also supported his statement.

In a recent conversation with a website, Salim has said that "Whatever Sonu is saying, he is right." He also said, "Not only the singers but the composers also went through a difficult time. The record labels he is talking about work only with select music directors and singers. For this, they have signed on to select artists. There is definitely 'favouritism' in the industry for some artists and composers.

Salim says "There are many composers like me who do not want to do just one song in any film. But there are some people who listen to the rules of record labels and make a song. Sonu Nigam has not said anything wrong, whatever he has said is true. There are many singers who are called first and then they are removed. There are many directors who want to work with composers like us, but due to the terms of the record labels, they are unable to work with us."
