New Delhi: In a significant stride toward enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and elderly citizens throughout India, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment orchestrated 'Social Inclusion Camps' concurrently at 72 locations spanning the country.
These gatherings were organized with the primary objective of distributing essential aids and assistive devices to senior citizens, thereby fostering a more inclusive and accessible environment for this demographic, as outlined in the official statement from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
The inauguration of this initiative commenced with the simultaneous broadcast of the 'Mann Ki Baat' episode by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at each camp location. 'Mann Ki Baat' has long been a source of inspiration, uniting diverse voices and perspectives from every corner of India.
Subsequently, Dr. Virendra Kumar, the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, inaugurated the main event in Tikamgarh, Madhya Pradesh, which served as the epicenter of the proceedings, connecting digitally with numerous locations across 20 states and union territories, as confirmed in the press release.
Addressing the assembled audience, Union Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to the mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas." Dr. Kumar stated, “In alignment with the Honorable Prime Minister's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,' the Ministry is executing a range of centralized initiatives to promote the social, cultural, educational, and economic empowerment of senior citizens, thereby establishing an inclusive and accessible environment that facilitates their comprehensive development.”
He underscored the Ministry's dedication to implementing centralized programs geared towards enhancing the social, cultural, educational, and economic well-being of elderly citizens, with the overarching goal of creating an environment that promotes their holistic growth.
Dr. Kumar also emphasized the Ministry's commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technology to produce top-quality aids and assistive devices catering to both persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
