Arun Verma, the legislator who represents the Sultanpur and member of the Samajwadi party is accused of raping a woman along with seven other people. The incident of rape took place four years back.

Yesterday, the body of the victim was found dead near her house. The Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav did campaigning for the Mr. Verma and now he is been booked for the murder. The father of the victim says that before the incident, the car of the accused passed in front of his house.

Mr. Verma has denied his involvement in the case. The hearing of the case will be on 21 February.
