After Majili's success, Samantha is hailed as the Queen Bee of Tollywood. She is now one of the most sought-after actresses in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, thanks to her realistic performances. Earlier, while reacting on the rumors, the actress revealed that she is going to play a cameo role in Manmadhudu 2. She said that she will play a very interesting extended cameo in 'Manmadhudu 2'. At the moment, she is not allowed to reveal anything about her character but can vouch that it's going to be an important one in the story. She was really looking forward to start shooting."

Current reports suggest that the film will be shot extensively abroad, especially in Portugal. Manmadhudu 2 is directed by Rahul Ravindran. Besides Nagarjuna and Rakul Preet Singh, the film also stars senior actress Lakshmi, Vennela Kishore, Nasser amongst others. It will be jointly produced by Manam Enterprises and Anandi Arts and the music is composed by Chaitan Bhardwaj. The release date of this sequel to the 2002 romantic comedy is yet to be locked.

The commercial flick also has veteran actress Lakshmi, Vennela Kishore, Devadarshini, Nasser and Rao Ramesh in supporting roles. Jointly produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna and P Kiran under Manam Enterprises and Anandi Art Creations banners, Manmadhudu is the second directorial of actor-turned-director Rahul Ravindran.
