Puri: The election season is on in India and political parties are leaving no stone unturned in pleasing voters. From massive rallies to roadshows, candidates from across party lines doing many things to seek votes. BJP's candidate for Puri constituency - Sambit Patra on Friday sang songs in Telugu to connect with  Telugu population in the constituency.

BJP spokesperson sang two popular songs - a Telugu number Bangaru Kodipetta and a romantic number "Tum Mile Dil Khile". He also shared the video of the songs saying the crowd cheered his initiative.

The spokespersons of parties are fielded in the Puri Lok Sabha constituency. While Sambit Patra is BJP's national spokesperson, Congress has fielded its Odisha unit media cell chairman Satyaprakash Nayak. BJD's sitting MP Pinaki Mishra, who's seeking re-election this time- is also the spokesman of the regional party.

Recently, Patra was in headlines after he was seen holding an idol of Lord Jagannath during a campaign rally in the state. A complained was filed with the Election Commission against him for violating the Model Code of Conduct. state Congress spokesperson Nishikant Mishra had said, "When it has been mentioned by the Hon'ble ECI that no election can be fought on the basis of any religion, caste, creed or culture, the election rally of Dr Sambit Patra and the photograph thereof clearly shows the violation of the model code of conduct,"
