Kolkata: India is working on a project to send humans to the depths of the ocean. The name of this project is 'Samudrayan'. India will land humans in the deep sea with the 'Submersible Vehicle'. Addressing a program in Calcutta, Atmanand said that according to this project, three people could be sent from submersible vehicles to a depth of up to 6,000 meters in the sea. A submersible vehicle built with native technology can dive up to a depth of six kilometres for 72 hours. Similar to ISRO's (Indian Space Research Organization) plan to send humans to space, NIOT has launched a 200-million-dollar oceanographic project. Submarines can only go up to a depth of 200 meters in the sea.
