Sangrur: Fire breaks out in School Van in the town of Longowal. Four children were burnt alive by being trapped in a fire in the van. There are three girls and a boy among them. There were a total of 12 children in the van. All children are aged between four and five years. Eight of these children were saved safely. Angry with the death of children burnt alive in the accident, they blocked the main road and demanded strict action from the administration. It is being told that this van was purchased two days ago from scrap and it is not even registered.
According to the information received, a sudden fire broke out in a school van going to the first and second-grade children leaving home at Simran Public School located on Sidhu Road in Longowal town. On seeing the flames, the van engulfed the van and the driver did not even know it. Because the flames started from some lower part of the van. By the time the driver stopped the van, the flames completely engulfed the vehicle. Seeing the fire in the van, the laborers and villagers working in the fields along the road ran towards the van. People started reaching out to drive the driver and children of the school van. People tried to extinguish the fire by pouring mud. Due to the efforts of people, eight children trapped in the van were taken out, but four children were burnt alive in the van in front of them. The other eight children have been saved safely.
It is also being said that SHO Balwant Singh said that the deceased children have been identified as Aradhya daughter Satpal, Kamalpreet Singh son Jagseer Singh, Navjot Kaur daughter Jasvir Singh and Simranjot Kaur daughter Kulwinder Singh. Upon investigation, it was found that the family was devastated by the families of the deceased children. They are in bad shape SSP Dr. Sandeep Garg said that a case has been registered against the school managers, the principal and the driver and started investigating the case. Strict action will be taken against those who are accused.
