Indian tennis star Sania Mirza is now out of the women's doubles after the mixed doubles of the Australian Open due to injury. She has suffered a lot due to which she will not be able to play her first Grand Slam tournament after becoming a mother.

Sania withdrew her name on Thursday due to injury in the first round of Mahil Douglas. She was scheduled to land with Nadia Kithenok of Ukraine at the Australian Open 2020. It is known that Sania and Nadia had recently won the women's doubles title in Hobart International. She is making a comeback after 2 years, but due to injury, she will not be able to participate in the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.

Both were trailing 2–6, 0–1 from China's Xianuan Han and Lin Zhu, when Sania left the court. She has a right leg injury during practice. She has returned to the tennis court after 2 years. Sania and Kitchennock were trailing 2-4. When the Chinese team broke Sania's service and won the set. She had to take a medical timeout after the first set. In the very first game of the second set, her service was broken and she could not play further.
