New Delhi: Slamming the BJP-led government, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Monday said the police action against protesting farmers in Haryana’s Karnal is a kind of “Talibani mentality”. Days after police lathi-charged farmers in Haryana's Karnal, Raut on Monday slammed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre saying that this is a kind of  mentality of Talibani. Taking a hit at PM Modi's monthly radio show, Shiv Sena chief said that how can this government say it is for the poor and for the farmers when it doesn't even hear their 'Mann ki Baat'. He further said that the attack on farmers is a shameful incident for the nation.

At least 10 people were injured after police lathi-charged a group of farmers disrupting traffic movement on a highway while heading towards Karnal in Haryana to protest against a BJP meeting. The police, however, said only four protesters were injured, while ten cops also sustained injuries.

A video allegedly showing Karnal SDM Ayush Sinha asking policemen to crack the heads of agitating farmers went viral on social media after police lathi-charged protesting farmers on Saturday. On Sunday, Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala also condemned the lathicharge by the state police on protesting farmers and assured that action will be taken against SDM Sinha.

Meanwhile, Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Sunday summoned Maharashtra Minister Anil Parab in connection with a money laundering case.
