Mumbai: There may be a big reversal in the political equation in Maharashtra. Amid tug of war with the BJP, Shiv Sena veteran Sanjay Raut has met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Sharad Pawar. After meeting Pawar, Sanjay Raut said that Pawar is a senior leader of the state and the country. The NCP chief is worried about the political situation in Maharashtra.

Rajya Sabha member Raut had earlier said that his party wanted written assurances from the BJP on the division of power, including sharing the CM post for two-and-a-half years. He also claimed that a consensus was reached between the BJP and Shiv Sena to share the CM post before the elections. On the other hand, the NCP said on Tuesday that a new political option could be considered in Maharashtra after the Shiv Sena announced to end its alliance with the BJP. Sources related to the NCP had said that their party wants to resign the resignation of Arvind Sawant, the only minister of the Shiv Sena in the central government, before proceeding further with the Shiv Sena.

It is being told that Sharad Pawar can hold a press conference today. Sources say that Shiv Sena can form the government with the NCP, while Congress can support from outside. At the same time, the BJP does not want to give the post of CM to its ally Shiv Sena under any circumstances. The party will agree to give a maximum of 40% stake in the deputy CM and cabinet to the Shiv Sena.
