Got matriculation at just 12 years old
Sarojini Naidu was born on February 13, 1879, at the house of Aghornath Chattopadhyay, the founder, and scientist of Nizam College, Hyderabad. Father scientist and mother Sundari was a poetess of the Bengali language. Sarojini saved the qualities of both the parents from childhood and nurtured them later. She was a promising student in studies and later learned Urdu, Telugu, English, Bangla and Persian languages. She had succeeded in matriculation examination at the age of just 12 years. After passing the school examination, she took admission in Madras Presidency wherever she has secured the first position. She went to England at the age of 16 for further studies, where she enrolled in King's College London.

The family members of Sarojini Naidu always wanted to grow up to be mathematicians or scientists, but she was interested in poems and drama since childhood. Naidu later wrote a variety of poems on the mountains, rivers, and temples of India. On the other hand, Sarojini's Persian drama 'Meher Munir' and poetry collection 'The Golden Threshold' were liked by the people.

Sarojini Naidu is considered one of the women who played an important role in the freedom movement of the country. Naidu was involved in many Satyagrahas of Gandhi. She was also imprisoned in the 'Quit India' movement in the year 1942. Gandhi's message was conveyed by Naidu to the people. On March 2, 1949, Sarojini Naidu died.
