Another Saudi Airlines flight from Riyadh to Peshawar encountered a dramatic situation on Thursday when its landing gear caught fire upon touchdown at Peshawar International Airport on Thursday, July 11. Passengers and crew members were safely evacuated with no reported casualties. The jet was flying from Riyadh to Peshawar when it experienced smoke from one of its tires upon landing at Peshawar International Airport in Pakistan, according to a statement from Saudi Airlines.

Earlier on February 20, this year The Saudia Airlines flight from Bangladesh made an emergency landing in the port city after a passenger's health worsened mid-flight.

Incident Details Today

Initial Discovery: As the plane landed, air traffic controllers noticed fire and smoke coming from the left-hand side landing gear.
Immediate Response: The controllers quickly alerted the pilot and rescue teams. Fire vehicles promptly arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.

Saudia Airlines Statement

In an official statement, Saudia Airlines confirmed the incident involving flight SV792 from Riyadh to Peshawar. The airline reported that smoke was observed coming from one of the tires during landing. The aircraft was stopped immediately, and all relevant authorities were notified. Passengers and crew were safely evacuated using the emergency slide.

CAA’s Actions

Observation and Alert: CAA spokesperson Saifullah stated that air traffic controllers saw smoke and sparks from the left-hand side landing gear and promptly informed the pilots and airport fire services.

Fire Control: The fire vehicles managed to control and extinguish the flames, preventing a major accident.

Safe Evacuation

All 276 passengers and 21 crew members were safely evacuated from the aircraft using inflatable slides, ensuring no injuries occurred during the incident.

Technical Evaluation

The aircraft is currently undergoing a technical evaluation by specialists to determine the cause of the fire and to ensure the safety of future flights.
