New Delhi: There is not much time left for the Asia Cup to be held this year, but the schedule of the tournament has not been released so far. The biggest reason for this is that this tournament is to be hosted by Sri Lanka, while the situation is not good at all in this country at the moment. After the economic situation has gone from bad to worse, the common people there opened a front against the Government. People have taken to the streets and the President of Sri Lanka has had to flee the country. In such a situation, how will the Asia Cup be held there? There is no clear answer to this question so far.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) chief Sourav Ganguly has also given an update on this. But, he also seems to be avoiding saying anything. Ganguly also said that he can't say anything right now, but is eyeing the situation. Let me tell you that, this time the hosting of the Asia Cup is with Sri Lanka. The tournament will be played in the T20 format. The Asia Cup 2022 season is scheduled to begin on August 27. However, the full schedule of the tournament has not been released so far. But according to reports, on the next day of the start of the Asia Cup, i.e. on August 28, the clash between India and Pakistan can be seen.

Let us know that India, hosts Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh have already made it to the Asia Cup. Apart from these, qualifier rounds will be played between The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Nepal, Oman, Hong Kong and the rest of the teams. Team India is the defending champions of the Asia Cup this time. They had defeated Bangladesh in the final in the last tournament.
