India's largest bank (SBI) is planning to start 'Work from home' facility for its staff. The bank believes that it has taken this decision due to the Corona crisis so as to protect its staff from the risk of infection. State Bank chairman Rajnish Kumar told the bank's 65th annual general meeting that the bank will prepare the infrastructure for this. It is also expected to save Rs 1,000 crore in its estimated cost.
Rajneesh Kumar said that the entire focus of SBI will be on reducing cost, increasing the productivity of the staff and removing it from administration offices, and deploying it in the sales office. Kumar said that by complying with the best global processes, the bank will create an infrastructure to 'work from anywhere'. He assured that the focus of the balance between the social and working life of the staff will be kept in it. According to him, the move is expected to cost the bank Rs 1,000 crore. In Corona's time, it will play an important role in the continuation of the operations of the Savings Bank.
Chairman of SBI said that the crisis of Covid-19 is still not averted. Therefore, like any other bank or financial institution in 2020-21, it will be a challenging year for SBI. SBI is fully prepared to face such challenges. Rajnish Kumar said that SBI has taken steps to monitor every project being implemented. The bank is hopeful to get out of the impact of the coronavirus in the short to medium term.
