Keeping this in mind, the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDAI), the regulator of the insurance sector, had drawn the standard health cover policy Arogya Sanjivani. It is mandatory for all insurance companies to include Arogya Sanjeevani in their health insurance product. It has been started from April 1 this year. Under this, all insurance companies will have to give a minimum coverage of Rs 1 lakh and the maximum coverage will be Rs 5 lakh.

This policy will be available on both individual and family floater basis. People between 18 and 65 years will be eligible to take this insurance. Treatment of corona has also been included in its cover. So that those taking this policy do not have to take separate corona cover.
