New Delhi: Supreme Court refused to interfere in Centre’s decision to deport 7 Rohingya refugees to Myanmar on Thursday. A plea was filed in SC yesterday for urgent hearing seeking restraint on PM Modi led Centre from deporting the 7 Rohingyas lodged in the Silchar Detention centre in Assam to Myanmar.

After the verdict of top court Center government will make the deportation of the first batch of Rohingya immigrants to Myanmar.  Worth mention here India is scheduled to deport seven Rohingyas, who had been living in Assam unlawfully, to their home state Myanmar later today. The Assam Police had apprehended the immigrants on July 29, 2012, for breaching the Foreigners Act. They have been under detention in Cachar Central Jail in Silchar district since then.

Centre told the Supreme Court that Myanmar has accepted the Rohingyas as their citizens and has agreed to take them back.

With the same tune, The SC said the competent Top court had observed the seven Rohingyas as illegal immigrants and Myanmar had accepted them as its citizens. "We are not inclined to interfere on the decision taken," the SC noted. The bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi who took charge on October 3 as 46th chief justice of India and Justices SK Kaul and KM Joseph had passed the order.
