New Delhi: A single bench of the Supreme Court on Monday, 18 June 2020 heard the four petitions seeking the demand to amend its order. While referring to the annual Rath Yatra case before the Supreme Court, the Center said that keeping in mind the Covid-19 epidemic, the Rath Yatra is going to be conducted without public participation.
According to information received from the sources, in the earlier hearing, the court has stopped the Rath Yatra to be held in Puri and other places of Odisha due to Coronavirus epidemic. Many petitions have been filed in the court regarding this.

There has been a lot of scepticism in Odisha for the annual and prestigious Rath Yatra. It is also being said that the temple committee had suggested to organize it without devotees, but the court had decided to stop any public gatherings and religious events.
