Bengaluru: Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, is suffering from continuous torrential rains. At the same time, the city does not notice the possibility of getting relief from it at the moment. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in Bengaluru and parts of Karnataka till September 9. Due to bad weather, the administration has decided to close some schools. On Wednesday morning, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai also visited several affected areas.

The roads have been inundated due to continuous rains. Houses, vehicles and complexes in posh areas of the city have been submerged in water up to several feet. At the same time, many parts have also started facing problems like power cuts, and traffic jams. The help of boats and tractors has to be taken to evacuate the city dwellers trapped in the water. According to CM Bommai, parts of Bengaluru have received 150 per cent more rainfall than normal between September 1 and 5.

CM Bommai arrived on Wednesday (September 7) morning to visit the rain-affected areas in the Outer Ring Road near EcoSpace. He was accompanied by Minister CN Ashwathnarayan and local MLA R Ashok. According to the report, Minister Ashwatnarayan is scheduled to hold a meeting on Wednesday evening regarding waterlogging in the IT corridor. Earlier, Chief Minister Bommai had levelled the recent allegations against the previous Congress government in the city. Statistics show that Bengaluru is the wettest this time in 50 years. About 162 lakes are fully filled.
