Chandigarh: On Friday, the Punjab government has decided to impose a night curfew in four more cities and closed all schools due to an increase in cases of coronavirus in the state. According to the agency, curfew has been imposed in eight cities of the state Ludhiana, Patiala, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, and Hoshiarpur from 11 am to 5 am. The Department of School Education has announced a preparatory leave for all classes in government and private schools, which was reported by the State Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla.

He also said that teachers will be present in the school. Schools are being closed to children only due to corona infection. The Education Minister said that students who want to get help from their teachers for exam preparation can come to school. He said that final examinations in schools will be conducted offline, following the Corona guidelines firmly. Detailed instructions for conducting the examination will be issued shortly, ensuring compliance with the corona guideline.

The Punjab School Education Board has already released the schedule of examinations. As per the dates announced by PSEB, examinations for class 5 will start from March 16, classes 8 and 12 will start from March 22 and class 10 exams will start from April 09. Apart from this, examinations for classes 6,7,9,11 will start from March 15, and examinations for classes 1 to 4 will start from March 17.
