Haridwar:All school and Colleges in the district will remain closed from July 24 to August 1 in Start of the ‘kawad Yatra’.
Magistrate of District ‘DK Singh" said the authorities have ordered that all schools and intermediate colleges be closed from July 24 to August 1.
'Kawad Yatra' is annual pilgrimage of devotees of Shiva to Haridwar “Kawad yatra” is annual pilgrimage of devotees of Shiva to Haridwar,Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand and Sultanganj in Bihar to fetch holy water of Ganga(Gangajal), which is later offered at their local Shiva temples.The Kawad yatra end on August 1.
