Dehradun: Schools and colleges have now started opening up after corona cases have come down. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand cabinet on Tuesday allowed the opening of schools in the state. The state government has allowed the opening of schools for students from class VI to XII from August 1.
The orders were issued to close schools and colleges during the lock-down in the second wave of the corona. Meanwhile, the corona protocol has to be strictly followed. The Uttarakhand Cabinet has allowed the opening of schools for students from class VI-12 from August 1. The corona cases in Uttarakhand are continuously declining after curfew and lockdown. Meanwhile, 51 new corona cases were found on Sunday, while no infected died. With this, the total number of patients in the state has gone up to 3 lakh 41 thousand 724.
Earlier today, several other decisions were taken in the cabinet. During this period, the state was allowed to conduct the monsoon session of the Assembly from August 23 to August 27. The Cabinet has also approved the formation of Kausani as Nagar Panchayat. In a landmark decision, the government has announced financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 to the candidates who have cleared the preliminary examinations of UPSC and Uttarakhand Public Service Commission to economically weaker students to prepare for the main examination.
