Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has put Uttar Pradesh on alert mode in view of the possible third wave of the pandemic. The government spokesman said on Tuesday that the government is sparing no efforts to expand all the healthcare facilities for kids across the state and making fool proof arrangements including paediatric ICUs and Neonatal ICUs in every medical college and district hospital. In addition,  over 3,000 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and isolation wards have been prepared in the other government hospitals. The spokesman said that the chief minister has directed the health department to ensure there is no shortage of beds to treat children in any situation.

He has also asked the health officials to ensure there should be no shortage of medical equipment in medical colleges and health department hospitals. There is adequate availability of all the necessary equipment including BiPAP machine, Paediatric ICUs and mobile X-ray machine.

Adopting a multifaceted approach to nullify a probable third wave, the state government has urged people to stay cautious and not let the guard down by getting vaccination as soon as possible and strictly adopting the mantra of SMS - Social distancing, wearing masks, using sanitizers.
