Bhopal: The Shivraj Singh Chouhan government of Madhya Pradesh, after consulting medical experts, has decided that schools will be reopened from February 1, 2022. All classes from 1st to 12th will be conducted with 50% attendance. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has tweeted that schools and hostels can also be opened with 50 percent attendance.

After the increase in the number of corona infected in Madhya Pradesh, the government had ordered the closure of schools till January 31. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra had said on Monday morning that the number of corona infected in the state is decreasing. After talking to CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday, it has been decided that the schools will open from February 1, but the examinations will be carried forward. At the same time, School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that the date of examinations in Madhya Pradesh will be extended. Earlier the board examinations were to begin from February 17. The decision on opening the school can come by evening.

Earlier, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said in a meeting on Saturday regarding the situation of corona infection that the decision to open the school would be taken after looking at the situation of corona infection in other states. The cases of corona infection are decreasing in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur cities of Madhya Pradesh. The corona infection is expected to decrease further in the month of February.
