New Delhi: The Central Investigation Agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made the second arrest in Delhi's Liquor Policy case. ED has arrested Sameer Mahendru, a close aide of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. Earlier on Tuesday, the CBI had arrested Vijay Nair. According to the ED's FIR, at least two payments worth crores were made by Indospirits owner Sameer Mahendru to 'close associates' of Sisodia, who were allegedly involved in irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the CBI arrested Vijay Nair in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. He has been the CEO of an entertainment and event media company. The ED had also raided their hideouts. Nair is being said to be the mastermind of this scam. According to the information, Vijay Nair was called for questioning at the CBI office on Tuesday. After that, he was arrested. Vijay Nair is accused of selectively giving licenses, factionalism and conspiracy.

A clarification was also given by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the arrest of Vijay Nair. AAP spokesperson Akshay Marathe has said that Vijay Nair was the communication in-charge of AAP for a few years. He said that he is being implicated in a fake case. Marathe claimed that this was a complete political change as Nair was planning a strategy for the Gujarat elections.

Actually, this whole matter started with Delhi's new liquor policy, which CM Kejriwal had described as a very good policy. But, the Delhi government was accused of committing a scam under the new liquor policy and the LG ordered a CBI inquiry into it. As soon as the order of inquiry was issued, the Kejriwal government got nervous and announced to implement the old policy back. But did not tell why he has taken this U-turn. After this, when the CBI investigation started against Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Kejriwal started accusing the opposition party every day to divert attention from the allegations against himself.
