GURUGRAM: Following protests over the Centre's Agnipath initiative, the Gurugram district administration implemented Section 144 CrPC on Friday as a precautionary measure to maintain the peace.

SDM Gurugram Ankita Chowdhary said the orders were imposed as a precautionary measure to keep the law and order situation in the district under control.

The assembly of four or more people in the district is prohibited under Section 144 of the CrPC. Violators will face charges under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

On Friday morning, there was a demonstration on Gurugram's Farrukhnagar Road at Chandu and Pataudi Road.
Around 100 people attempted to block the Gurugram-Jhajjar Road and Pataudi Road, but the police dispersed them.

Aman Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sadar, who was deployed with the force at the Rajiv Chowk, said "In light of the demonstration, an adequate police force has been posted. No one will be allowed to disrupt the city's law and order. The Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is free of traffic congestion ".
