Bhubaneswar: A case of sending messages to MPs by creating fake WhatsApp accounts in the name of Lok Sabha president Om Birla has come to light. Information in this regard has been given from om Birla's office. It is reported that a fake WhatsApp account was created in the name of Om Birla. The matter was reported to the concerned authorities after which three accused have been arrested from Odisha.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tweeted that some miscreants have created a fake account using my name and photo. Through fake accounts, MPs and others are being sent messages from 7862092008 mobile numbers, 9480918183 9439073870. The matter has been reported to the concerned authorities. Please ignore calls or messages from these numbers and other numbers and provide information in my office. At the same time, after receiving a complaint in this regard, Odisha police arrested three people. Links of the arrested accused are being told with the cybercriminals. 

The three accused had already sold active SIM cards to a gang and one of them was used to create a fake WhatsApp account using Birla's photograph available in the public domain. Last month, a person in the form of Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu sent a message to vip and others seeking the help of money. His office then alerted the Home Ministry.
