Avutu Nagi Reddy a senior ham operator & Secretary of the Coastal Amateur Radio Society (CARS) passed away in Guntur town of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday morning. He was 64 years old and had his wife, two sons, and grandchildren in the family. He was more popular with his amateur radio call sign VU2ANI among ham operators.

In his career, Avutu was very active on High-Frequency bands and had conversations with fellow ham operators far and wide. In ham terminology, the conversation is called as 'Ham' and humorously the contact between two ham radio operators is referred to as an 'Eyeball QSO'. Nagi Reddy was known as an affable person who took interest in helping out other ham operators in erecting antennae and also in home brewing.

Nagi Reddy was keen on collecting different types of radios and amplifiers. Communication from VU2ANI was received loud and clear by other ham operators, especially on the 40-metre band. Fellow ham operators recalled his jovial nature and his willingness to guide others and also in experimenting with different antennae and amplifiers. Basically Ham Operators are known as An amateur radio operator, who uses amateur radio station to communicate with other amateur operators on radio frequencies assigned to the amateur radio service. His assigned frequency or an amateur radio call-sign was VU2ANI which was famous for its loud and clear communication amongst his fellow mates.
