New Delhi: On Saturday, in an ultimate insult to India’s bravehearts, senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan audaciously defended the terrorist behind the Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans. Bhushan posted on social media platform Twitter “Pulwama bomber Adil Ahmad Dar became terrorist after he was beaten by troops. It is important to understand why so many young men in Kashmir are becoming militants and willing to die. Even US forces couldn’t hold Afghanistan and Iraq after large-scale suicide attacks,”.

In his statements come hardly two days after the dastardly act of terror let loosed on innocent Central Reserve Police Force jawans in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Shockingly, Congress’ social media head Divya Spandana also endorsed Bhushan’s tweet. Punjab Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday favoured talks with Pakistan. Notably, Sidhu, the cricketer-turned-politician, was among the invitees for the swearing-in ceremony of his ‘friend’ Imran Khan as Pakistan’s PM in 2018.

Sidhu said on Friday “Wherever wars are fought and such things (Pulwama) happen, dialogue also continues simultaneously. There is a need to find a permanent solution to (issues between India and Pakistan). Such people (terrorists) have no religion, no country and no caste. When a snake bites, its antidote is also snake poison,”. Sidhu’s statement came despite the fact that Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has not condemned the attack so far.

However it is clear that banned Pakistani terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack in Pulwama’s Awantipora area. The attack took place around 3:30 pm after a suicide bomber, identified as local boy Adil Ahmad Dar, in a Mahindra Scorpio car loaded with 350 kilograms of explosives rammed into a convoy of 78 vehicles carrying over 2500 CRPF troops on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.
