The beginning of the last trading session of 2019 saw a decline in the Indian stock market. The Sensex and Nifty opened on Tuesday with a fall. At the time of writing this news, the SENSEX was trading down by 103.08 points at 41,454.92. The Nifty was also trading down 12 points at 12,224.85. Tech Mahindra was the biggest loser among the Nifty 50 companies (1.55 percent).

Out of the 30 companies in the SENSEX, only 5 were seen doing business in the green. 25 companies were trading with a decline. The companies which saw the fastest growth in the SENSEX include L&T, Hindustan Unilever, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, and PowerGrid.

Infratel, Cipla, Yes Bank, GAIL and Dr. Reddy's shares in the Nifty 50 saw a spurt. With this, shares of Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Eicher Motors and Wipro declined. Talking about sectoral indices, only Nifty Realty, Nifty Pharma, Nifty Metal, Nifty Media and Nifty FMCG can be seen trading in the green mark. The rupee started strongly on Tuesday. The rupee opened 5 paise to 71.26 against the dollar today. In addition, the rupee had closed at 71.31 against the dollar on the previous trading day.
