Key benchmark indices slid in morning session on Thursday, December 15, 2022, following weak global markets amid the U S Federal Reserve's hawkish policy.

The  BSE Sensex declined 186.74 points to 62,491.17, while the  broader NSE Nifty dipped 51.95 points to 18,608.35. The Sensex pack's main laggards included Tech Mahindra, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tata Consultancy Services, Titan, and UltraTech Cement.

The toppers included Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, State Bank of India, IndusInd Bank, and the group.

International Markets: Equity markets in Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong were trading lower elsewhere in Asia. The US stock markets had a negative closing on Wednesday.

The decisions made today by the ECB (European Central Bank) and BoE (Bank of England), both of which are expected to raise interest rates by 50 basis points, will be closely watched by equity markets throughout the world.
Benchmark Brent crude for international oil prices dropped 0.65% to USD 82.16 per barrel.

According to exchange data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth 372.16 crore on Wednesday, making them net buyers.
