Sensex Snaps 4-Day Losing Run, Top Stocks to  watch Today

Market Closing Updates: Benchmarks for Indian stocks over  Friday closed their four-day losing streak today by reaching a higher tone. The buying interest in consumer goods and auto companies helped domestic indices turn back positive.

The NSE Nifty advanced 111 points or 0.69 percent to conclude at 16,049 on Friday, while the 30-share BSE Sensex increased 345 points or 0.65 percent to close at 53,761. Mid and small-capitalization stocks performed well at the close, with the Nifty Midcap 100 rising 0.77 percent and small-caps up 0.37 percent.

The NSE's 12 sector indicators finished in the green.  Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto, two sub-indices, outpaced the NSE platform by increasing by up to 1.47 and 2.03 percent, respectively. Nifty Metal, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty IT, on the other hand, all had declines of up to 0.81%, 0.43 %, and 0.15 %, respectively.

The highest Nifty gainer was Tata Consumer Products, whose stock jumped 3.27 percent to Rs 790.90. L&T, Titan, Tata Motors, and Hindustan Unilever were also among the winners. A favourable market breadth was observed overall, with 1,776 shares on the BSE rising and 1,505 falling.

Asian Paints, UltraTech Cement, HUL, Titan, Maruti, L&T, HDFC, M&M, Nestle India, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, and ITC were among the top gainers on the 30-share BSE index, with their shares rising as much as 2.87 percent.

On the downside, Tata Steel, PoweGrid, HCL Technology, Wipro, Dr. Reddy's, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharmaceutical, SBI, and ICICI Bank,  finished in the red.
