New Delhi: Separatist leader Naeem Ahmed Khan, who was arrested on charges of terror funding and spreading separatism in Kashmir, has sought bail in the Delhi High Court. Naeem was arrested from the Kashmir Valley in 2017. He is accused of terror funding along with creating a tempest in the Kashmir Valley. His bail plea in the case was rejected by the Sessions Court in December 2022.

After this, Naeem has now appealed for bail in the Delhi High Court. The high court accepted the petition and posted the matter for further hearing on March 23. In this regard, the High Court has asked the NIA to file a reply. Let us know that in the beginning of 2017, terrorist activities had intensified in the Kashmir Valley. At the same time, the Kashmir Police received information that separatist leader Naeem was not only spreading unrest in the Valley but was also providing shelter to terrorist activities here and funding terror through various means.

Based on this input, the NIA investigated the case and arrested Naeem on July 24, 2017. Since then, the accused has been in jail. Recently, he filed a bail application in the Sessions Court of Delhi, but the court rejected the petition due to the allegations against him. Along with this, the lower court had given him the option of the high court for bail.
