Serbia: According to President Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia's military industry has increased production of weapons and ammunition to meet the demand that has risen sharply as a result of the conflict in Ukraine. The world is getting ready for war, according to Vucic, who was in the UAE for the IDEX weapons fair.

Everyone requires weapons. Everything is being purchased, and anything we produce is in high demand, according to Vucic. "I don't know how some of this hasn't shown up on the Ukrainian battlefields yet."

The Serbian president continued by noting that since all of the available ammunition has been reserved, demand for items like rockets for 'Grad' multiple launcher systems has increased by 70%. Belgrade is therefore looking to increase some of its ammunition production.

He asserted that over the course of a year, Russia expends 35,000 rounds per day and Ukraine about 16,000. According to Vucic, Serbia is attempting to save at least some of the equipment for internal use.

Our military and nation must come first. Everything produced in Serbia must stay in Serbia at least 30% of the time, he told reporters. Only what we have left over can be sold. Everyone is preparing for war and wants to fight.

Belgrade is also importing everything it can, including a bid for French Rafale fighter jets, out of concern for its own neighbourhood. Vucic claims that later this week, a deal for kamikaze drones will be signed with the Emirates.

"NATO nations are all around us. Although Bosnia-Herzegovina is not a member, NATO troops are present there as well as in Kosovo, which is a portion of Serbian territory.

When asked about the state of affairs in Ukraine, Vucic responded that he anticipated "great changes on the battlefield" in the coming two to three days, which might increase Western pressure on Serbia. Insisting that Belgrade maintain its military neutrality in the ongoing conflict, Vucic has so far defied calls from the US and EU to sanction Russia.

Serbia is promoting its "Nora" self-propelled howitzer as well as the "Lazar" and "Milos" armoured vehicles in addition to its ammunition.
