Lucknow: Sero survey will be started from today to know the spread of COVID-19 infection in the country's largest state Uttar Pradesh and the level of immunity against this virus in individuals. From September 4 to 8, blood samples of people from selected 11 cities including Lucknow will be taken. Trained medical teams will sample randomly selected people in urban and rural areas. At the same time, ASHA workers have been entrusted with the responsibility of collecting these individuals. Samples will be tested at King George Medical University Lucknow.
According to the Health Department, this survey will be appropriate in controlling the spread of coronavirus and making future strategies. In 6 homes in randomly selected 4 areas, a person between the age of 18 to 59 will be included in this survey after his written approval. People below 18 years and above 60 years of age are not included in this. Blood samples of 32 people will be taken in 45 selected areas of the city at random.
The medical officer will work to collect the blood sample, send it for the test and record all the information in writing. Director General of Medical Health Dr. DS Negi said that the preparations for the sero survey starting from September 4 have been completed. Teams have been trained. Samples will be taken according to the availability of the team in different cities. Samples will be taken from the village of Mohanlalganj in Lucknow. Samples will be taken in the cities of Lucknow, Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Agra, Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Baghpat, Moradabad, Ghaziabad and Meerut.
