The National Equestrian Championships is set to begin on Saturday at the Amateur Riders Club at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai. The Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) has announced this on Friday. In a release issued by the EFI, it has also been said that athletes aged 14 years and above are going to be eligible to take part in the 7-day competition. Athletes from Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata and host Mumbai will compete in 5 categories in this annual event. Shyam Mehta, President of the Amateur Riders Club (ARC) Mahalaxmi Race Course, said, “In terms of precautions, we have made sure to follow all the rules and guidelines laid down by the authorities. The safety of players, teams and staff is our top priority. We are also wishing all the participants the best of luck."

Trials for these games to be held in 2022 are going to be held at the Amateur Riders Club (ARC) from 12 to 16 December. The 'Show Jumping' selection trials will be conducted at Mahalaxmi Race Course with participants aged 16 years and above. Equestrians from the host city Mumbai along with Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai are participating in the trials organized by the Indian Equestrian Federation (EFI). In which the trials for teams and individual events will be conducted in two rounds in 'show jumping 1.40 m' and 'show jumping 1.50 m' sections. If reports are to be believed, this is the first time that the second and third round trials of the Mumbai Equestrian Games are being held in December 2021 and January 2022 respectively.
