On Friday, Mizoram reported 2,064 new COVID-19 cases, the second-highest single-day increase ever, bringing the state's tally to 1, 67,725, according to a health department official.

According to the data, the state reported the largest single-day surge ever on Tuesday, with 2,222 persons testing positive for the virus. He said the death toll remains at 591 since no fatalities have been reported for the second day in a row since Thursday. The district of Aizawl reported the most new cases (1,435), followed by Mamit (171) and Lunglei (162). (137). The daily positivity rate fell to 27.32 percent from 27.51 percent the day before. The newly affected patients included at least 325 children.

There are currently 13,721 active cases in the northeastern state, with 1, 53,413 persons who have recovered from the virus. COVID-19 patients have a recovery rate of 91.46 percent and a mortality rate of 0.35 percent. COVID-19 has been tested on 16.53 lakh samples in the northeastern state thus far, with 7,554 samples tested on Thursday.

Over 7.92 lakh people have been immunised, with 6.13 lakh receiving the full dosage, according to state vaccination officer Dr Lalmuanawma Jongte. The number of persons infected with COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh has risen to 60,792 after 194 more people tested positive for the virus on Thursday, according to a senior Health Department official.  According to the official, the State had 526 cases on Wednesday. 114 new cases have been detected in the Capital Complex Region, 18 in Papumpare, and 10 in the Lower Subansiri district.
