A 70-year-old man living in Habibpur village of Ecotech-3 police station area of Greater Noida in Gautam Budh Nagar district was allegedly strangulated to death in the wee hours of Monday. The police, who rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident, have seized the body and sent it for post-mortem.
Inspector Vinod Kumar Singh, in-charge of Ecotech-3 police station, said that in the wee hours today, police received information that Jitu alias Jeet Singh (70), a resident of village Habibpur, was found dead at his house. He said that when the police who reached the spot took action, it was found that there were marks on the man's throat. Prima facie it appears that he was strangulated to death.
Inspector-in-charge gave this information: According to the information received, the in-charge inspector has said that the police have taken the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem and the real cause of death will not be known only after the report comes. The SHO said that during the investigation, the police have come to know that there are family disputes of the deceased. The police are taking action in the case keeping in mind various aspects. He said that the family members of the deceased have lodged an FIR of murder against an unidentified person.
