Lucknow: A 27-year-old girl was allegedly raped on the pretext of a job in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, police said on Sunday. On the complaint of the victim, the police arrested the culprit cab driver. The girl told the police that she hails from the Ghazipur district and the criminal called her on the pretext of getting her a job here and then misbehaved with her.
Station House Officer Ram Singh said that the criminal cab driver took the girl, who had come to Lucknow from Ghazipur to his room and forcibly raped her. When she resisted, he snatched Rs 20,000 cash and jewelry from her and threatened her. On the complaint of the victim, the police have registered a case against the culprit under several sections. Station House Officer Ram Singh said that Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Ghazipur Rajdepur, was a driver, who called the 27-year-old girl, a resident of the village, on the pretext of getting her a job in a private company. Then he committed the rape incident with her.
The same criminal was arrested from near Purvanchal Apartment on Sunday morning. During interrogation, the accused denied robbing the money. The victim has been medically examined and counseled. Along with this, the old crime record of the criminal is also being investigated.
