Sharad began his career as a model, winning “Face of the Year” in Kolkata.  In 2014, he made his television debut in Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag. Sharad rose to prominence on Zee TV’s Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, where he played Sagar Pratap Singh with Divyanka Tripathi. He went on to work on Maharana Pratap and Muskaan later in his career.

The actor remained in news for his personal and professional life. His relationship with actress The Divyanka Tripathi was among the most talked relationship of Television Industry. Their love blossomed during Zee TV's serial 'Banoon Main Teri Dulhann'. There was a relationship between the two for eight years but due to some rift, the two parted ways.

Once Sharad speaking about his relationship with Divyanka Tripathi said, “There’s not much I can say except that it was a beautiful relationship. But when the word ‘marriage’ popped up, I developed cold feet.”  He adde, “It was a long time ago and I was quite immature. One gradually matures with time and experience. Yes, I have made mistakes. As human beings, we all make mistakes. I realise that now but unfortunately, it’s five years down the line. I should have realised it then, but no hard feelings. We have both moved on. She looks very happy and I wish her the very best.”
